Screen Detox 101

A 4 to 6 week family challenge that helps parents and children identify screen overuse patterns and replace them with healthier habits. Families complete weekly tasks together, share wins in a private group, and receive guided support throughout. No shame, no extreme measures. Just small steps that actually stick.

Target: Families with children ages 8 to 18. Delivered online + in-person.

School and library partner program

CyberSmart Families

Cybersecurity is a family issue. This program brings age-appropriate digital safety education to school communities. Parents learn to secure home networks and devices. Students learn to recognize phishing, protect their privacy, and respond to online threats. Delivered as a workshop series through partner schools and libraries.

Target: 6th to 12th grade students and their parents. Partner schools and libraries welcome.

Family rhythm program

Digital Detox Days

One day or window each week where screens rest and connection deepens. Families choose their detox window together, plan activities that replace device time, and share what they discovered. A simple, repeatable practice that resets the household rhythm and creates space for the things that matter most.

Open to all families. Community challenge format with weekly check-ins.

Community circles

Real Connection Circles

Small, facilitated groups of parents and youth who share their real experiences with technology. No lectures. Just honest conversation about what is working and what is not. Circles meet monthly, in person or online, and are hosted through mosques, community centers, and partner organizations across Columbus.

Groups of 8 to 12 participants. Separate circles for parents and youth.

Adult mentorship

Tech Role Models

Children watch what adults do, not what adults say. This program equips parents, teachers, and community leaders to model healthy technology use in their daily lives. Participants receive a self-assessment, a 30-day challenge, and a peer community for accountability. Experienced families are paired as mentors to families just starting their journey.

For parents, educators, and community leaders in Central Ohio.

Student leadership

Youth Cyber Ambassador Program

Students are the most powerful advocates for digital wellness among their peers. This program trains 6th to 12th graders to become Cyber Ambassadors at their schools. Ambassadors learn digital safety, peer education skills, and how to lead campaigns for healthier screen habits in their communities. They earn recognition and grow into real leaders.

Open to students in Columbus-area middle and high schools. Applications open soon.
