A community-rooted nonprofit born in Columbus, Ohio, in 2025.
Families today are navigating something entirely new. Powerful devices, addictive platforms, and always-on connectivity have reshaped childhood faster than most parents had time to prepare.
The research is clear. Excessive and unmanaged screen time is linked to sleep disruption, attention difficulties, anxiety, and reduced in-person connection. Cybersecurity threats are real and growing, and children are not prepared for them.
SafeScreens Initiative was founded to close that gap. Not with fear-based messaging or unrealistic rules, but with practical tools, honest community, and a framework families can actually live with.
To help families, children, and youth in Ohio and beyond develop healthier and safer digital habits, reduce screen addiction, and raise cybersecurity awareness, so every child can thrive.
A small, dedicated group of professionals and community members committed to this work.
